Moving house is a big job. It’s an even bigger one when the house you are moving to is in another state or territory,
That’s because there are not only restrictions on plants and produce from the orchard and veggie garden but also on household potted plants (including fruit trees).
Soil can carry harmful pests and diseases and most states do not allow pot plants to be moved. Pest and diseases can also be carried on the leaves of plants.
If the plant is special there may be a treatment option, but there will be a cost if this option is available. It’s probably cheaper to just buy new ones when you get there.
Call 1800 084 881 or your destination state number to find out what can and can’t be moved.
Best of luck with your move, and thanks for helping to protect valuable industries in your new state or territory.
