The purpose of this procedure is to describe:
- the design features for inspection and treatment facilities;
- the standards required for inspection and treatment equipment; and
- the responsibilities and practices of personnel;
that apply to the treatment of potted plants in growing media and bulk growing media used in potted plants for Red Imported Fire Ant under an Interstate Certification Assurance arrangement.
Scope
This procedure is applicable only to the following –
(a) Pest – red imported fire ant (RIFA) [Solenopsis invicta Buren]
(b) Commodity – Potted plants in media and bulk growing media used in pottedplants.
(c) Location – Red Imported Fire Ant Interstate Plant Quarantine Area.
Not all ICA Operational Procedures are Accepted by all states and territories of Australia.
Some interstate markets may require additional quarantine certification as a condition of entry. It is the responsibility of the business entering into an ICA arrangement to ensure compliance with all applicable quarantine requirements.
