The purpose of this procedure is to describe:
that apply to the intra and interstate movement of wine grapes where quarantine restrictions apply for the pests grapevine phylloxera and Queensland fruit fly under an Interstate Certification Assurance (ICA) arrangement.
This procedure covers all certification of the movement of wine grapes by a Business operating under an ICA arrangement in New South Wales.
Pest/s: Queensland fruit fly (Bactrocera tyroni); Grapevine phylloxera (Daktulosphaira vitifoliae)

Location: This procedure is separated into two (2) sections.
Limitations:
o the load is securely transported
o the grapes are accompanied by a cart note, and
o the grapes are processed at the winery within 24hrs.

Some interstate markets may require additional quarantine certification as a condition of entry. It is the responsibility of the business entering into an ICA arrangement to ensure compliance with all applicable quarantine requirements.

This procedure covers the movement of wine grapes by a business operating in South Australia under an ICA arrangement (agreed between SA, NSW and Victoria).
Part A Consigning Business
This procedure is applicable where the requirements are a specified entry condition of an interstate quarantine authority for the pests grape phylloxera (1) and or Mediterranean and or Queensland Fruit Fly (2).
Certification of the movement of wine grapes under this Operational Procedure is currently only accepted by New South Wales, Victoria and South Australia, and is not an accepted quarantine entry condition for other interstate markets.
1) It is the responsibility of the business consigning produce to ensure compliance with all applicable quarantine requirements.
2) NSW and Victoria will only accept wine grapes originating from the state or territory, or any part of the state or territory, that is free from Mediterranean fruit fly and certified by an Area Freedom Certificate and issued by the accrediting authority for that state or territory.
Part B – Receiving wineries is not used in SA.
South Australian receiving wineries will need to register as importers and have CA-01 Import Verification Compliance Arrangement (IVCA) accreditation or have direct inspection by PIRSA for clearing consignments.
If not already registered as an importer or accredited for IVCA for clearing arrivals, an additional application for these accreditations will be required. The direct inspection option is available instead of IVCA if arriving consignments are limited to a few (see here).

that apply to secure transport and inspection of wine grapes for the quarantine control of phylloxera, Queensland fruit fly and Mediterranean fruit fly under this procedure.
This procedure details the requirements for movement of wine grapes by businesses operating under this procedure from areas in a Phylloxera Exclusion Zone or Phylloxera Risk Zone, and in non fruit fly free areas.

1. The introduction of wine grapes into South Australia that originate from a Phylloxera Risk Zone is prohibited except under a permit issued by the Chief Inspector, Primary Industries and Resources South Australia.
2. The introduction of wine grapes into or within Victoria and New South Wales from a Mediterranean fruit fly outbreak area is prohibited.
